A Closer Look

On Easter Sunday we celebrate the risen Christ. Our Lord has resurrected, he has defeated death. This news never gets old. It will forever be the greatest event in history.

When you pause to consider Easter, you have to reflect back to where we’ve come from. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:21, “for since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.” Sin entered the world through Adam, the Fall cursed us all. As hard as we try, it’s inevitable that we miss the mark. Your broken condition is a product of this death. Life was supposed to be lived eternally with God. And in Jesus going to the cross, this is possible again. He atoned for the death caused by Adam, and then went even further.

Jesus came back to life, he defeated what was a limitation for everyone else. And what’s so amazing about Jesus rising, is he didn’t just do that to prove He’s God, He rose again, so that you could rise with him. Just like Adam’s death became your death, Christ’s resurrection can become your resurrection.
