The story of the Samaritan woman at the well is one of the most well-known in Jesus sharing the eternal life that can be found in him. He crosses so many cultural barriers. For a Jewish man to speak with a Samaritan in the 1st century, let alone a Samaritan woman was unheard of. The transformation that then takes place is staggering. Upon realization of both her sin and new life found in Christ, this lady has newfound hope, and newfound mission. 

John 4:39 says, “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony.” 

This woman did what we are so often scared of. She shared her story, she shared what Jesus did in her life. But she didn’t just do it with anyone, she shared with those in her town, people that she already knew, that already knew her. When it comes to sharing the good news of Jesus, where are you looking? Isn’t there a mission field among your co-workers, and neighbours, your friends, and relatives? It was because of her testimony that many from this town put their faith in Christ. 

God gave you a sphere of influence, sometimes you just need to be a little bolder like the woman at the well.
