A Closer Look

In times of high stress, it’s helpful to remember that the peace of God passes all understanding.
We can have that, but I don’t know about you, that truth might be in my head, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s reached my heart.
You see, I feel like we almost just cover up the angst and uncertainty that we're feeling in a situation because the “Christian” way is to trust the peace of God passes all understanding.
But hold on let’s back that up, Paul says in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and petition make your requests known to God.”
That word petition is specific – it’s a request – what’s going on in your life. God is inviting you to share your burdens with Him, yeah He already knows, but this is for your sake . In order for you to experience this peace you have to wrestle with God, tell him your concerns, your worries.
Doubt doesn’t have to lead to disbelief, doubt can lead to deeper faith.
